Gareth grew up in Manapouri and spent most of his childhood, exploring and hunting around the shores of Lake Manapouri. Gareth grew up around boats and is still passionate about them now. He has previously worked in tourism. For over 20 years now has worked as a commercial cray-fisherman, based out of Milford Sound. He works out along the rugged Fiordland coast, south of Milford Sound, working as both crew and skipper. When home Gareth enjoys hunting with his children & dog, fishing, scuba diving, mt biking. Living off the land from this catch is a nice way for the family to live. Trout and deep sea fishing, duck shooting, and hunting deer (fresh venison) for the family meals.
Sacha grew up in Te Anau. She has worked in tourism for over 20 years. Guiding on the multi-day overland Milford Track, managing 75 walks over the track. Living and working in Milford Sound for 1 winter and 2 summers on the overnight vessels as crew. Driving small coaches and guiding guests into Milford Sound for day excursions over 10 years. And also guiding day walks on the local trails in the area. She just really enjoys meeting people from all corners of the world, and what a great opportunity to show off her home to visitors to Fiordland. No day is ever the same in the great outdoors. She enjoys photography, multi-sports, horse riding, and hiking.
Connor enjoys mt biking, fishing, hunting, and heading out on adventures with his dad.
Kelsey has a great time out riding her pony, enjoys art, spending time with all the animals, mt biking, hiking and fishing.
The kids are both keen to show our guests around the farm to meet all of the animals.
The Macrae family have plenty of animals who are quiet and friendly. Our guests are welcome to meet the animals but not enter the paddocks without us. Most of the animals enjoy being hand feed and enjoy a pat.
